![]() ![]() But I think we can forgive Lewis this, seeing as he was writing in the 1930s, long before man actually attempted such a voyage. ![]() Today’s readers might find this part of the book rather primitive and silly. There is no hard science in it, although Lewis does an admirable job in imagining the voyage through the heavens, where the travellers are bathed in the pure light of the sun, as opposed to the “dark” outer space the main character, Ransom, had previously imagined. ![]() It contains the elements of classic science fiction – a voyage in space to another world (Malacandra), an encounter with an alien species. This is probably best classified as science fiction, or perhaps pulp science fiction, if you want to get technical. Kinda misleading – those circle-things aren’t in the book at all! ![]()

From there, we follow Vega Jane’s adventure as she unravels the mystery of the Quag and reveals the secrets of her hometown. It’s literally outside the borders of Wormwood and turns out, Quentin was caught going through there. On the first chapter, Vega Jane saw some scary-looking canines catching some guy that apparently, Vega Jane knows personally. There are other job divisions such as Mills, Tillers, and Dactyls. She works as a Finisher at this sort-of factory called Stacks where they basically create and manufacture things that people uses around town. Also, eagles lack manual dexterity, so I can understand why they'd want to leave out apostrophes. It would be a hassle if you had to hop in the air and use your feet to karate-chop two keys simultaneously every time you wanted to use the shift key to make a capital letter. If I come across a person who seems to completely ignore the existence of apostrophes and capital letters and types things like "im an eagle and im typing with my talons, so dont make fun of me cuz this is hard," I like to imagine that they actually are an eagle typing with their talons. Oh well, I guess I should have thought of that before I started writing. If I had to explain myself in six words, those words would be "heroic, caring, alert and flammable." That's only four words. She writes very well matched with an excellent sense of humor. That said, I don't have to tell you to read everything because her work has its way to coax you into doing so. I discovered Hyperbole and a Half (see external link) in year 2012, read it every night until I finished reading every piece she'd written.
